Today we celebrate, commemorate Mary's visit to her elder cousin, Elizabeth, who was expecting. We note how thoughtful Mary was. When the angel told her that her cousin, Elizabeth, in her old age, was pregnant, and quite pregnant, Mary decided to go help her. Then, too, I can imagine her asking all kinds of questions, getting the help she would need as she began her pregnancy.
In one of my reflection books, it quotes Elizabeth: and how does it happen to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
It is not the same as our "Why me?" "How could this happen to ME?" attitude.
Elizabeth is in awe and wonder....and grateful. The lesson for us? Be alert and aware of the events, the surprises, the unexpecteds, the other than usual and be in awe. Be in wonder. Be grateful.
Now....IF I can only remember!

3 and 3
Wow....how time flies! I have not been here for a while...but have good excuses! Meetings...meetings. And of course I am one of those "odd" ones that actually likes meetings....being an extrovert I enjoy being with all those people again and catching up.
My last two meetings were about VOCATIONS! We, the SISTERS OF THE SORROWFUL MOTHER are sharing the boat of few women choosing our way of life...consecrated life of commitment to God, to service in the Church...to God's people. So....we need to meet and talk about who we are and how can we make our life and our community known....and how can we INVITE women to listen and follow through SHOULD God be inviting them to this life. Exciting! Challenging!
So, how about YOU? Have you by any chance experiened some kind of a NUDGE from the Lord? Do you sometimes have an attraction to life as a SISTER? If so...what are you waiting for?

Something strang in the sky...the SUN!
Yes, we finally have a sunny day! PRAISE GOD!!!!! As I said before: it's amazing what a little bit of SUN can do for your attitude.
I just want to share with you the source of my reflection this morning. As is sometimes the case, we can read something that SEEMS so new, yet we have heard it, read it LOTS of times. I think this is true for me of this passage: Isaiah 41:8-10 (I think).
"...you whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and summoned from its far-off places, to whom I have said, YOU ARE MY SERVANT. I CHOSE YOU...DO NOT FEAR. I AM WITH YOU. DO NOT BE ANXIOUS, I AM YOUR GOD. I WILL STRENGTHEN YOU. I WILL HELP YOU. I WILL UPHOLD YOU WITH MY VICTORIOUS HAND."
Is that not POWERFUL? Is that not HOPEFUL? Is that not ENCOURAGING?
"...summoned me from far-off places..." I just had to chuckle. Here I am in Wisconsin...summoned from New Mexico, truly a "far off place"! CHOSEN! and by GOD! Truly, how can I doubt? How can I fear, worry, be anxious?
