Feb. 2/3 weekend was CONSECRATED LIFE DAY. The world, hopefully, REMEMBERED, although I know the majority of the local parishes did not...no mention, whatsoever, BUT...not at St. Anthony the Hermit Parish, Menomonee Falls, WI where I work.
I had an explanation of this vocation in the bulletin. I also asked the pastor, who readily gave his ok, if we could have renewal of vows at all the Masses.
It was a wonderful experience! At the Sat. 4:30 Mass, Sister from school joined me, as together we renewed our vows. At the Sunday, 8:00 o'clock, I renewed by myself. I was taken aback at one point at how I was touched and moved...almost tears! At the 10:30 Mass, one of the sisters with whom I live joined me.
I have not seen such attention and quiet! I think this may have been a first for many people.
I pray that this "event" may touch those whom God is calling to follow him in this way of life.
